Lifelong Learning and Skills: ideal and Reality

Campaign for Learning National Learning Forum
02 December 2008, 9.30am - 1.15pm
£125 plus VAT

Are government initiatives in lifelong learning and skills cutting across each other?  With the plethora of initiatives for both pre and post 16 year olds is there cohesion in the approaches?    Inequality indicators are showing that the gaps are getting wider instead of smaller.  There is a strong argument that the government’s focus on workplace learning and the initiative to raise the learning leaving age will both be counter productive in terms of social inclusion and child poverty.

Speakers will include Professor Bob Fryer, National Director For Widening Participation In Learning, Department of Health, Simon Bartley, Chief Executive, UK Skills, and Tricia Hartley, Chief Executive, Campaign for Learning.
