Compulsory Job Search. Compulsory Job Search 'Evaluating the Employment Impact of a Mandatory Job Search Assistance Program' estimates the impact of the British labour market program the New Deal for the Young Unemployed. The New Deal provides extensive job search assistance followed by other measures such as training and wage subsidies. By exploiting the fact that the New Deal was introduced at different times in different parts of the country, the researchers are able to isolate the impact of the program from other factors.
