Kapila decries lack of international engagement with Darfur crisis. In a wide-ranging interview on the Darfur crisis for the Islam Channel, Dr Mukesh Kapila, UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Sudan 2003-2004, calls for transfer of the AU mission in Darfur to the UN and decries the lack of political and religious engagement with the crisis internationally. He also highlights the sharp contrast between the intensity of media coverage for the war in Lebanon and the events in Darfur, calling for a correction of the media imbalance.
