Secondary Education in the United States

Secondary Education in the United States

In the past decade, American secondary education in general, and high school education in particular, experienced a surge of critical attention from government leaders, policy analysts, nonprofit organizations, researchers, and philanthropic foundations. The challenges of American high school education have been explored, measured, and described in reports that aim to raise awareness and stimulate change in state and local education systems. In response, states and foundations seeded reform efforts with planning grants and start-up funds to support new programs.
