Doomed to rely on the mask? debt

On November 15, 1977, several thousand Iranian students assembled before the White House to protest a visit by the Shah of Iran. The protesters wore rudimentary masks: paper bags with holes cut for the eyes, nose and mouth. They did so mainly to protect their identities and avoid retribution for themselves and their families. Student informants for the SAVAK, then Iran’s intelligence agency, were known to conduct surveillance on Iranian students abroad.

Age-Friendly Communities: Are We Expecting Too Much? debt

Aging successfully depends not only on the behaviours of individual seniors, but also on the quality of the places where they live and receive care. The age-friendly-communities movement proposes policies and programs that attempt to improve the material and social environments of older people and help them age successfully.Given limited funding and competing demands for resources, proponents of this movement must prioritize over-ambitious agendas and offer verifiable solutions that do not overlap with other housing, service and care programs.
