Policy Options editor responds to National Post on Tom Flanagan affair debt In their determination to smear media organizations that broke with Tom Flanagan, Jonathan Kay and Terence Corcoran reveal themselves willing to betray any sound journalistic values that might get in their way. Mr. Kay and Mr. Corcoran criticized Policy Options magazine for refusing to publish Mr. Flanagan's proposed article on Calgary politics. As editor of the magazine, I made clear to Mr. Flanagan in an e-mail that I supported his right to say anything he wanted but, because we are deeply opposed to the values he expressed in declaring that viewing child pornography does not harm anyone, we were no longer interested in seeing his yet-to-be-submitted article. |
